General Medical Spa Questions

  • What is a medical spa?

The American Med Spa Association defines a medical spa as a hybrid between an aesthetic medical center and a day spa” with four core elements: (1) the provision of non-invasive (i.e. non-surgical) aesthetic medical services; (2) under the general supervision of a licensed physician; (3) performed by trained, experienced and qualified practitioners; (4) with onsite supervision by a licensed healthcare professional.

Non-Surgical Fat Reduction FAQs

  • Do you offer anything to help with pain from certain procedures?

We are proud to now offer Pro-Nox! The PRO-NOX™ is a pneumatically driven gas system designed to deliver a 50% oxygen and 50% nitrous oxide mixture to adult and pediatric patients for the relief of pain and anxiety in a medical setting.

  • What areas can be treated?

SculpSure treatments are FDA-cleared to reduce stubborn fat in the belly, love handles, back, thighs, and under the chin.

  • How many treatments will I need?

Every patient is different. Most people see the best results when they receive a series of treatments. Ask your SculpSure provider about the treatment plan that is right for you.

  • What should I expect during the treatment?

Most patients feel deep warmth and tingling sensations intermittently throughout the treatment, which is generally well-tolerated.

  • When will I see results?

Patients may start to see results as early as 6 weeks following treatment as the body begins to eliminate the destroyed fat cells, with optimal results usually seen at 12 weeks.

  • How long before I can resume normal activities?

There is no downtime following your SculpSure treatment, allowing you to resume your daily activities right away.

Permanent Cosmetic Procedures FAQs

  • Do The Pigments Pose Allergy Problems?

People can develop an allergy to anything, anytime; however, pigment allergies are considered rare. Some doctors recommend that people with environmental allergies or allergies to conventional makeup have permanent cosmetic procedures because they can replace cosmetic products that people are sensitive to. While allergic reactions to any type of tattooing pigments on the body or on the face through permanent cosmetics may occur at any point in time, they are extremely rare. If you feel you could have a possible allergy to the pigment or anesthetic, we can do a skin patch test a week before your procedure to alleviate any concerns.

Information To Know About Procedures

  • If you have an ideal shape, bring a few reference photos with you to your appointment.
  • If you fill in your brows, you may fill in your eyebrow as you normally would so we can take into consideration the shape and color you desire.
  • Design & color will be drawn on and approved by client before procedure.
  • Topical anesthetic will be used before and during procedure to keep the client as comfortable as possible.
  • Aftercare instructions as well as aftercare ointment will be given to client at the end of the service.
  • The initial procedure will generally take approximately 2 to 2 ½ hours; there are records to establish; photographs to take; desired design and color to discuss; the procedure to perform; and the aftercare requirements to discuss. Follow up or color maintenance procedures usually do not require the same amount of time.
  • A follow-up appointment is recommended 6 weeks after the initial procedure to assure that the client has obtained the color and design they desire.
  • Permanent cosmetics procedures are considered permanent because pigment is tattooed into the upper reticular part of the dermal layer of the skin and cannot be washed off. However, as with any tattoo or pigment in general, fading can and often does occur, requiring periodic maintenance to keep it looking it's best.
  • If you have plans to go on vacation or have an important event, it is recommended to plan your trip a minimum of 14 days after procedure.
  • We require clients to avoid any blood thinning medication for a minimum of 1 week prior to their appointment. This includes Vitamin E, Aspirin, Niacin, Fish oil supplements and Ibuprofen.
  • Do not drink any alcohol the evening before and the day of your appointment and limit the amount of caffeine you consume.
  • If you have been on Accutane in the past, you must wait at least one year before considering this procedure.
  • Clients currently pregnant, receiving chemotherapy or have uncontrolled diabetes are not able to receive services.
